Good turn out at Becky's for Louise Hay's You Can Change Your Life self help book, and if I can just say congratulations on the excellent nacho-y dip thing Becky it was awesome.  We also had 2 new members joining us - Jess and Jess - which made remembering names super easy.

Great book discussion as we were split 50/50 with those willing to give it a go, and those who thought the whole thing was ridiculous.  I decided from the outset to just go with this book while I was reading it.  I've read a couple of self-help books before and I know they get a bit freaky-deaky at times, but that the core concepts are usually pretty good.  I, like Clare in Sydney, did try out the exercises, I changed my "should's" to "could's" and repeated positive messages in my head and I will admit it did make me feel good.

However, on the downside, because I read a self-help book when I didn't really feel I needed to, I think I started exaggerating problems in my head so that I could do some of these exercises.  To the point now that this book seems to have created problems I never knew I had!!!  I should have just admitted a lot of it was ridiculous in the first place like most other people did.

I can only imagine what are newbies are thinking.  Throwing a self-help book in the mix was a good idea I think, especially when we have been going for so long - but I think it may have been a little weird as your first read right?  So sorry if sh*t got weird Jess & Jess, hopefully you wanna come back next time!  (Don't expect things to change too much though)

NOTE: No photos I'm afraid, so am substituting with some snaps from our Australia Day party at Jackie's last w/e where Becky made her dip again! yay! took a photo that time :)
