What a lovely, lovely venue.  I know that the members of the London book club has been here more than once before my arrival here but I am so glad I made them go again.  The Swan & Edgar is a beautiful little pub down a quiet street near Marylebone Station.  It's cosy, quaint, a little quirky and seems to appeal to young, good-looking intellectual Londoners like ourselves! haha.  This is Jess modelling my new Primarni purchase just to emphasise the sophistication point.

And there are lots of books and I like books...

Oh and the food!  Bellisimo!  No, I didn't have the pie despite the recommendations - truth is, I'm not a big pie fan.  I did have the Parma ham wrapped roasted figs and nearly died from eating pleasure.  Good value too.  Plus wine is served in handy single portion carafes which was convenient.
So, yes, I really think Bill Bryson should have come here rather than spend so much time walking around small middle-of-nowhere English towns that just made everyone grumpy to read about - which not everyone actually even bothered reading to tell you the truth.  But we wouldn't let that stop us having a good night.  We even had a few drop ins later in the evening...

PS No, just to clarify before anyone asks, the Swan & Edgar are not paying me to promote their pub!  But here is the link to the website if you are interested: www.swanandedgar.co.uk
